How it happened that two countries Czechoslovakia and Bulgaria, part of the socialist block, opposed each other from different sides of the barricade? With the help of original documents, audio and video witnesses this web-page tries to give an answer.

The official long name of the institution is Commission for Access to Documents and Information regarding Bulgarian Citizens Engaged in Activities of the State Security and the Intelligence Services of the Bulgarian Army.

The basic idea behind the project is through modern communication and internet technologies to create and develop catalogue of the contemporary critical readings of Bulgarian communism.

The project started as a website on 26th March 2004 and was the first website for personal recollections from the socialist years in Bulgaria. The project is based exclusively on the use of Internet as a tool and place for storytelling and is the first of that kind in Eastern Europe.

This web site was the result of the spontaneous initiative of a group of participants in political discussions in Bulgarian cyberspace. It was built in support of the draft resolution on the international condemnation of communism, sponsored by Rene van der Linden at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe
